The Island Village Club Holiday Resort

San Eugenio, Playa de las Américas

RESORT:  The Island Village Club Holiday Resort is located in San Eugenio in Playa de las Américas in the south of Tenerife.  The Resort is minutes away from many restaurants and bars and within 10 to 15 minutes slow, easy walking distance to the Puerto Colon yacht marina and beach where you'll find new shopping centres, bars and restaurants.  Island Village is opposite the world famous "AquaPark Water Park and Dolphinarium".  You'll love it there!  On-site at Island Village there is also a variety of restaurants and bars; a large, fully-stocked supermarket which bakes its own hot fresh bread (great for breakfast); 24 hour Reception and security and a fun children's play area.  The Resort is in a quiet residential area.

FRIDAY OR TUESDAY HOLIDAY START & CHANGEOVER DAYS:  Island Village, like most Villas and Apartments in Tenerife, has Friday as its main holiday start/changeover day which fits in with many British flights but other days are sometimes available.  This means that there is more availability starting on a Friday.  You can arrive and depart whenever you like within the period you have booked.

VILLAS:  All Apartments are professionally designed and decorated with high angled ceilings and archways.  Each Apartment at Island Village is fully equipped and includes such luxury items as marble bathrooms and a fabulous Jacuzzi and skylight.  There are large lounge areas with Satellite TV systems.  You'll also find indoor terrariums in the Apartments.  The Apartment interiors are well furnished and kept in good condition by the maid service on most days of the week.  The accommodation is smart and clean.  Each Apartment is well maintained and taken out of circulation for 1 week every year while maintenance takes place (for painting, furniture or kitchen items replacement, etc).

SPACIOUS:  All 1 and 2 Bedroom Apartments have  S - - P - - A - - C - - I - - O - - U - - S  accommodation with large lounge areas which can be seen from the photographs on this page.

APARTMENT COLOUR SCHEMES AND FURNITURE STYLES AND COLOUR VARIATIONS:  Due to ongoing annual maintenance and modernising, colour schemes and furniture styles and colours sometimes vary in some Apartments from what you see in any photos on this webpage.  The photographs on this webpage are actual photos of Apartments at Island Village but the colour schemes and furniture styles and colours may be different with time.  Examples of changes include:  1) new safety regulations have forced the changing of the glass dining table to a quality, Spanish style wooden table and matching chairs which makes good sense;  2) indoor lounge furniture is currently a dark reddish colour which looks very good;  3) bathrooms now have a larger mirror with additional lighting along the top (better for your moisturising ceremony after a hard day's work improving your suntan);  4) bedspreads continually change and are now a slightly different colour.  There is also an on-going program of kitchen units and facilities updating - new kitchens may look slightly different to the pictures on this webpage but should be similar.

LOUNGE AREAS:  Large spacious lounge/dining rooms have Satellite TV systems for viewing movies, sports, news, etc.  They have indoor terrariums which add to the soothing nature of the Apartments.  The lounge is the heart of the Apartment and has sofa-beds, cupboards, elegant furnishings and a Spanish style wooden dining table & chairs in the 1 & 2 Bedroom Apartments (2 Bedroom Deluxe Apartments have their own separate dining area).  Adjoining the lounge is the kitchen in an open plan design.  Also adjoining the lounge is a relaxing terrarium, the bedroom(s), and most importantly, exits to the garden or balcony areas where you'll find many hours of relaxation, fun and enjoyment.  Some Apartments have an additional toilet and washroom off the lounge area.  Here are some photos for you:

KITCHENS:  Each Apartment has a modern, fully fitted and fully equipped deluxe kitchen with an adjoining, external drying room for drying towels or swimming costumes, etc.  They're equipped with everything you'll need in a kitchen on holiday.  Full size ovens with hobs and exhaust hoods, microwave ovens, refrigerator, kettles, toasters, full sets of crockery, plates and bowls, tea-cups, saucers and coffee mugs, drinking glasses, etc, etc.   It's all there for your use when you're not visiting some of the wonderful, inexpensive (we don't like to say "cheap") restaurants and bars located nearby.  Here's a photo to give you an idea of how comfortable the Apartments are:

BEDROOMS:  Island Village has 1 Bedroom Apartments which sleep a maximum of 4 people and 2 Bedroom Apartments which sleep a maximum of 6 people.  All Apartments are maintained each year to a very high standard.  You'll love staying there!!!  Cots and high chairs are available free for infants and young children - please ask us in advance to order some for your family.

BATHROOMS:  Each 1 and 2 Bedroom Apartment at Island Village includes a wonderful luxury bathroom (possibly our favourite relaxation room) which has twin marble sinks, a toilet, a bidet and beautiful marble tiles.  All this is enhanced by an exotic Jacuzzi and an overhead skylight.  2 Bedroom Deluxe Apartments have a 2nd bathroom with a small bath or shower.

JACUZZIS:  Each Apartment at Island Village includes an exotic, relaxing Jacuzzi with overhead skylight.  Combine this with some soft music, a candle or two, a bottle (or two) of Cava (provided by yourself) and some tappas and you'll think you're in heaven!  This is what holiday dreams are made of!  We look forward to this for our own holiday every year.  Please note that for health and safety reasons and for your personal comfort, Jacuzzis now have a safety stainless steel bracket for holding onto when you get in and out of the Jacuzzi, the surface of which can sometimes be a bit slippery with soap, etc.

PATIOS, BALCONIES & GARDENS:  The Apartment lounge areas lead out to either a tiled patio or a balcony.  Many ground floor patios have a small garden but some do not.  Balconies and patios are ideal for sunbathing or cocktail parties with your family or new found friends.  All gardens are very well-kept by expert gardeners.  You'll find the patio areas kitted out with a table, some chairs and a few sunloungers.  Sun umbrellas are available from Reception.  Put on some music that you bring with you, pour out the Sangria and cocktails from Mercadona, serve up the Tappas and you've got the makings of a great party every night!  Ole!!!  Fiesta time!!!  Why not introduce yourself to your neighbours and invite them in for a drink & some Tappas - it's a great way of making new friends - especially if you have a few bottles of Cava or a couple of 5 Euro bottles of Scotch whisky (from Scotland) or whatever you like to drink from the local Mercadona supermarket.  Here's a sample exterior view of a One Bedroom Apartment at Island Village:

SATELLITE TV RECEPTION:  On a recent visit to Island Village, the following Satellite channels were on view but channel choice varies each year depending upon Satellite position and reception:

MAID SERVICE:  All Apartments include a maid service on most days.  NO CLEANING & NO BED MAKING . . . ahhhhh . . . . HEAVEN ! ! !

SWIMMING POOLS: Island Village is built in small phases, each with its own swimming pool and sunbathing areas.   There are up to 9 swimming pools on the resort for everyone to use.  Some of the pools have bars or restaurants attached, helping to make your holiday a very relaxing one.  There's even a waterfall bar near the top of Island Village with cascading swimming pools above it!  There are five 2 Bedroom Deluxe Apartments which have their own private pools.  The main resort pool (near Reception and a large Restaurant Bar) is "heated" in winter.  In reality, this means that the water is warmish with "the chill" having been taken out of it.  We were very pleasantly surprised on one of our visit's last days (we always try to do something nice on our last day) when we took a relaxing cruise out to see the whales and dolphins and went swimming in the sea off the catamaran.  The water was really quite warm and it was in December!  Try it!  You might be converted like us.

POOL TOWEL SERVICE:  You'll probably have enough luggage to carry with you to and from Tenerife, so pool towels are available from Reception for a small, refundable fee.  Once you pay the fee, you can return the towels to Reception and change them for fresh ones as many times as you like during your visit.  When finished with the pool towels, simply return them to Reception with your receipt for a full refund of your money.  Enjoy your swimming and sun-bathing around the many pools at Island Village.

BATHROOM TOWELS AND BED LINEN:  A selection of bathroom towels and hand towels are provided for your convenience in your Apartment.  These are usually changed twice or more per week during your stay.

IRON & IRONING BOARD:  There should be an iron and an ironing board in all Apartments.  If either is missing on your arrival, simply contact Reception which should be able to locate one for you.

SAFES:  Safes are available for hire in each Apartment for a small weekly fee.  Please ask Reception for details.

MAINTENANCE:  All Apartments are maintained each year to a very high standard, with Apartments usually being taken out of service for 1 week while they are painted, redecorated or refurbished, dependant on what maintenance is required.

CHILDREN:  The resort is very friendly and children are made very welcome.  Cots and high chairs are available free for infants and young children.  Children's facilities include a special safe Adventure Playground area for kids.

SECURITY:  It is very safe at Island Village which has its own private security system with a few guards unobtrusively patrolling the resort.  Each main swimming pool has a lifeguard for your safety and protection.

ENTERTAINMENT IS NEARBY:  The famous Octopus AquaPark Waterpark & Dolphinarium are opposite the front of Island Village.  From Island Village, it's only a 10 to 15 minute slow walk to . . . the fabulous marina and beaches . . . many shopping areas . . . and the Thursday/Saturday markets at nearby El Duque where you'll just love the bargains to be had, ideal for birthday and Christmas shopping.  Tenerife has abundant types of Entertainment on the island, all of which can be booked in or near the resort.  You'll never complain that there is nothing to do.  Why not just chill for a while and enjoy a refreshing drink by the pool or explore the magnificent countryside and try some delicious tappas in a mountain bar?  For our clients, we will guide you to some of the best Canarian places to eat & exciting places to visit which many tourists/guides don't know about.  We venture out to Tenerife each year (and stay at Island Village) for fact finding and a holiday break - it's such a wonderful, varied place with something for all tastes and interests.  It changes year to year – there’s always something new and exciting to look forward to.

RESTAURANTS & BARS:  These are dotted around the Island Village area.

Another popular Restaurant at Island Village is “James’ Brasserie & Bar” (previously known as The Carvery) which is situated next to the main swimming pool at the front of the resort.  Here are some photos to give you an idea of what it is like:

MARINA AND BEACHES:  From Island Village, it's only a 10 minute walk (or 15 minute slow stroll) to the Puerto Colon marina and beaches with many fabulous shopping areas.  A short walk from here brings you to the El Duque Thursday/Saturday markets where you'll just love the bargains to be had, ideal for birthday and Christmas shopping!  From the marina, there is a very relaxing walk along the coastal promenade which takes you through El Duque and on to La Caletta where you can have some lovely meals, either in the local bars or more sophisticated fish restaurants overlooking the sea.  The local buses or taxis will take you back to the San Eugenio Mall (with Mercadona Supermarket) for a leisurely walk back to Island Village.

AQUAPARK & DOLPHINARIUM:  The world famous AquaPark Water Park and Dolphinarium is loved by Kids of all ages and is adjacent to Island Village.  The Dolphinarium is included in your Water Park ticket.  A reduced rate ticket is sometimes available from mid afternoon.

DELUXE APARTMENTS:  At Island Village, 2 Bedroom Deluxe Apartments have their own private swimming pool plus a 2nd bathroom with small bath or shower.  They also have a separate dining area for those private romantic dinners by candlelight.  The entertainment centre may also include a video player & radio cassette, as well as the standard Satellite TV system.

DELUXE APARTMENT LOUNGE AREAS:  Decor is now slightly different in that sofa bed lounges have been replaced by higher quality dark reddish coloured sofa beds.  Bedspreads now may also be a different colour.  Here's a few photos of some of the Deluxe Apartment Lounge areas at Island Village:

DELUXE APARTMENT DINING AREAS:  Deluxe Apartments have a separate dining area for those special meals when you just want to stay in and relax in the comfort of your lovely Apartment.  Glass tables have now been replaced by Spanish style wooden tables and matching chairs (for health and safety reasons).  Here's a photo of one of the Deluxe Apartment dining areas at Island Village:
