ALTERNATIVE TRANSPORT FROM THE AIRPORT TO THE PLAYA DE LAS AMÉRICAS AREA:
Taxi: Another easy way to get to
your resort from the airport is to take a taxi from
the taxi rank situated at the front entrances of Arrivals of the airport in
Tenerife. The taxi ride from the southern airport to the Las Américas
area should cost about 25 Euros per taxi (plus a charge for luggage) and take
about 20 minutes. Make sure you agree a price before you get in the taxi
(not in the taxi and especially not when you arrive). If you have any
problems, simply take the taxi's number plate registration number and have a
quiet word with the authorities who want you to have a great holiday and come
back to their shores.
Bus: There is an extremely good
and inexpensive bus service available in Tenerife which we like to use because
you get to mix and sometimes chat with the locals. There is a bus service
at least once an hour from the airport to most resorts in Tenerife. If
you want to save your pennies or cents for that special final night dinner or
some shopping or some extra drinks, why not get a bus and then a taxi once you're
near your final destination? The bus ride from the southern airport to
the Las Américas area should cost about 1.15 Euros per person (using
a "BONO-BUS" discount bus ticket that you can buy inside the airport
- ask the Information Counter which shop to buy them in) and the journey should
take about 35 minutes, depending if it visits the port of Los Cristianos on
the way.
Car Hire: You can organise this
in advance with us. Make sure that before you take possession of the hire car,
check thoroughly for dents and scratches on the hire car and mark this on your
contract that you sign when picking up the car. You may just save yourself
a few Euros.
